Process

Our professor, Mike Patterson suggested that we go through all our footage and find the best images to assemble the interactive experience we would like to tell. This storyboard is a combination of DAY 1 & DAY 2 shoot days. This is only a fraction of some of the images that we wanted to explore more in depth to find moments of distortion, beauty, & intimacy.

Video 1

Here is some test footage with Andrea moving in, then out of, the frame. Also, the footage has been blended with a yellow solid in AE to create a yellow, glowing silhouette.

The venue we will be using, the ZML, has three (3) walls that are covered with screens. There are fourteen (14) screens in all - five (5) on the left and right walls and four (4) along the center wall. We will be able to project onto twelve (12) of these.

noise

IDEA
One side of the room is filled with white milk, the other a liquid of a contrasting color. Participants are separated in two teams and their objective is to keep their side pure. As bits or viscous streams of one side travel to the other side they begin to make dissonant noise. This noise travels with the objects. Teams collaborate to keep the noise from overriding and invading their side.

USE
Wii as input
Maybe Processing to generate visuals (?)
Or what would be best for sound? Max/MSP might work better

Mami Wata

tentatively "explorations of WATA"

Through this interactive piece we will explore the parallel existence, and intersections, of industrial histories and African mythologies and modernity.
